The great majority of adults have one or more scars on their body. The impact of such scarring ranges from absolutely none to significantly interfering with day-to-day life. The extent of the scarring is just one factor that determines its impact, with other factors such as location, the original cause, and associated symptoms such as pain and itching also having a bearing on how much it affects an individual.

types of scars
that exist,
available treatments
for established scars, as well as some
general advice
on new scars, which I advise my patients to follow after surgery.
