I have conducted research into long-term satisfaction rates following breast augmentation surgery, which I presented to the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons in 2013. I have also undertaken extensive research into the surgical outcomes of women who received PIP breast implants, presented to the European Society of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons in 2014: during the course of my fellowship training, I encountered many women who had previously received these implants, and gained extensive experience in revisional surgery (removal ± replacement of implants and related surgeries) in this patient group. I feel I am in an excellent position to offer advice to Irish women in this situation.
