About Fitzgerald Plastic Surgery

I see patients for cosmetic, reconstructive, and laser surgery. I also offer minimally-invasive and non-surgical treatments. You can find more information on the treatments I offer by browsing the sections above.

I have received formal, recognised training in all aspects of my speciality, including time spent on internationally-recognised fellowship programmes in the UK and the Netherlands gaining experience and qualifications in aesthetic surgery and lasers.

I am the only plastic surgeon practicing in Ireland who has undergone such extensive training in medical lasers. I have undertaken this level of training to allow me to offer the best care to my patients, and will never offer to perform a procedure that I do not believe in.

Éilís was recommended to me back in October 2018 when I had finally decided to bite the bullet and go ahead with the breast reduction that I had long awaited. As soon as I had my first consultation with her I knew she was the person I wanted to do my surgery. She explained everything in detail but without loads of incomprehensible medical jargon. She covered the pros, cons, recovery time, healing process and everything in between. She also explained that it would be a full year before I saw complete results and I really appreciate her telling me this although I was in no rush to get the result I wanted. I liked the fact that she was a mother herself in her 40s and could understand and empathise with all the concerns I may have as a woman. I am slim but with large breasts which had always bothered me for a variety of reasons. Unwanted attention, discomfort, back pain and struggling to get clothing to fit properly. After two pregnancies and breastfeeding they had grown from a 32DD to a 32FF. I had constant back pain, breast discomfort and red marks in my shoulders and around my rib cage. The day of the surgery I went into the procedure excited and with full confidence that I was in the best hands. In fact when I was in recovery a nurse said to me that I was lucky to have had Éilís as my surgeon and described her as “an artist”. I actually had nipple sensation almost as soon as I woke up which is a sign of how talented Ms Fitzgerald is. I spent one night in hospital and was released home the next day with some painkillers, and instructions for wound care etc. The first two weeks are painful but I was briefed for that and I had constant contact with The Beacon. I attended Ms Fitzgerald two weeks later and already the scars were healing really well. I attended her again at 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months and a year later. Everything she had told me in our first consultation was as it panned out. By a year post surgery I was delighted with the results. I have very natural looking breasts with minimal scarring. I can buy bras easily and without having to dole out €60 a pop. Clothes fit me so much better, I can wear backless, tops, bralets, bikinis and go jogging for the first time in years. I can even go braless without being embarrassed or uncomfortable. Ms Fitzgerald has given me my confidence back and the physical freedom I had longed for
